To burn an audiobook to CD you will need a writeable CD drive and blank writeable CDs. Bear in mind each CD can only hold a maximum of 72 minutes of audio, so a five-hour audiobook would require five CDs. Burning Audiobooks to CD in Windows Media Player Detailed instructions on burning CDs from within Windows Media Player 11 (via microsoft.com). Audiobooks behave exactly the same way as digital music, so if you're used to playing MP3 music files, MP3 audiobooks will be a piece of cake. You can listen to MP3 audiobooks on MP3 players like the iPod, iPhone, Zune, ZEN or any other MP3 player. You can also listen to audiobooks on your Mac or Windows computer using a music player application like iTunes or Windows Media Player. Whichever management application you use, audiobook files work exactly the same as digital music files. You can even burn them to CD to enjoy in your car (provided your purchased files are DRM-free). See our help section for more information on listening to audiobooks on your computer »
You can import your DRM-free audiobook files into iTunes two different ways: - Locate the downloaded MP3 files (make sure they're extracted first) and drag the file named with the title only into the iTunes window. This will automatically import all the necessary files for your audiobook.
- In iTunes, go to the File menu and choose Add to Library (Mac), or Add File to Library or Add Folder to Library (Windows). Then navigate to and select the file or folder that you want to add.

An audiobook is an oral reading of a book that you listen to. Audiobooks have around for many years on cassette tapes and CDs, but just like music, audiobooks are now available digitally so they can be played on devices like the iPod, iPhone, Zune or other MP3 players. And, yes, listening to an audiobook counts as reading!
According to Amazon's website, Kindle will recognize the eBook file type Mobi (PRC) as long as it is DRM-free*. You can transfer your DRM-free Symtio files to Kindle by connecting Kindle to your computer via USB cable. When Kindle is connected via USB it will show up as a removable drive (on both Mac and Windows). To add new DRM-free files to Kindle, drag them to the Documents folder. Choosing your file format for Kindle In your Media Footlocker, find the title you want to download, select Kindle as your device and then choose PRC as your file format. Then click Download. The following is an excerpt from Amazon's website in regards to using Kindle: Handling Files Through USB You can use the "drag and drop" functions of your operating system or your computer's file management commands to move or copy files from your computer to your Kindle and vice versa. You can also delete unwanted files from your Kindle memory or create backup copies on your computer. If you are using a PC: Kindle appears as a removable storage disk in Windows Explorer. The optional SD memory card also appears as a removable storage disk independent of Kindle. Default drive assignments for network drives or other devices on your computer could cause a conflict with how Kindle and your SD memory card appear in Windows Explorer. You may have to disconnect network drives or give them new drive letter assignments to ensure that Kindle and your SD memory card appear properly on your PC. If you are using a Mac: Kindle will appear as a drive in the Mac OS Finder. If you have installed an optional SD memory card, this device will appear as a drive in the Mac OS Finder independent of Kindle. *Files must be DRM-free (digital rights management free) in order to work with Kindle.

This could be happening for a few reasons. It's possible that the modem or router connected to your network is clogging the passageways (to put it in easy-to-understand terms). The best way to unclog those passageways is to reset the modem and router by unplugging them for at least 30 seconds, then plugging them back in. This isn't something you should have to do often, but occasionally power outages and other service hiccups require the reset. If you have questions, please contact your internet provider. We are not responsible for lost or corrupt configuration settings.

If after clicking Download from within your Media Footlocker you can't find your downloaded file, the most likely explanation is a security issue having to do with Internet Explorer. IE requires you to OK the download before it will begin via a yeallow security bar at the top of the browser window (beneath the tabs). Find out more information on this security issue
If you are using Windows Internet Explorer (in Windows XP or Vista), the default security settings will prevent you from downloading a file without giving it permission. While this is a good step in security, it can make downloading files from reputable sites, like ours, frustrating. - Click on the Information Bar.
- Select Download File... from the pop-up menu.
- A dialog box will appear asking you if you want to "Open" or "Save" the file. Select a location on your computer that will be easy for you to find the file after it is downloaded and click Save.

This error is typically due to bandwidth issues. If your network is experiencing particularly high traffic (which often happens at night, especially with cable DSL customers because they share bandwidth with the whole neighborhood for TV and internet), try your download again later. This is not something that needs to be done often, but ocassionally power outages and other service hiccups require that you restart you devices. See your modem or router manufacturer's instructions for details on restarting or resetting. We are not liable for lost configuration settings or data from restarts.
